RM1738   Fluorite and quartz
More photos

These fluorite specimens are particularly interesting as they show dodecahedral crytals, which is an uncommon habit for fluorite, with minor octahedral and cube faces. To give a touch of aesthetics, crystals have a marked geometric color zoning, revealing a purple replica of the larger crystal inside. Good transparence and brilliances. They are disposed on a quartz matrix. Really aesthetic.

The piece shows some crystals with defined faces and edges, intense black and brilliance, some doubly ternminated. Very interesting specimen collected in this large agpaitic pegmatite body discovered in 1996 on the northern flank of the Umbozero mine on Alluaiv Mt. Intensely hydrothermally reworked, extremely Na-rich, CO2-rich and relatively Si-rich pegmatite. We will send analysis to the buyer.

One of a very few tourmalines I found in this old collection with this classic combination from the 1960s or 1970s: nice brilliant lustre, glassy surface, intense color zoning between pink to green. Parallel groth, terminal rhombohedrons and a crossing prismatic pink small crystal between them. This well-known pegmatite mine was discovered in 1991 and produced very colorful tourmalines. Nice gem.
