Delhayelite is a rare phyllosilicate from the Khibiny massif, in the heart of the Kola peninsula. This area is well known for the large number of alkaline pegmatites that have contributed to the mineralogy a large number of new species. I purchased this specimen more than 10 years ago to the dissapeared dealer Baikal Geo (Madrid). Aesthetic anglesite specimen that shows a rich group of crystals with a razor-sharp chisel terminations, striated faces characteristic of the species, very sharp and with good transparency and colorless. This specimen date to the late 1970s and were found in the well known Moroccan mining area of Touissit.

If something I like about the world of selling minerals is to find specimens lost in the nooks of old collections. This sample is a case of this. It is an Australian piece, of good size, formed by a druse of ferro-axinite crystals, not very big, but with an excellent color and transparency. They are accompanied by calcite and curious milky quartz. The specimen comes from a locality located NW of Queenstown, Tasmania, a big skarn that was worked by their sulfides: pyrite, pyrrhotite, arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite. Under the calcite ferro-axinite appeared... But a long time ago.
