Very aesthetic quartz (eisenkiesel or Jacinto de Compostela var.) crystal, showing defined faces and edges, with a good size for the locality. Perfect luster, with deep red color. In a gypsum matrix with another small crystal. From a different Spanish locality than usual ones.
Very aesthetic quartz (eisenkiesel or Jacinto de Compostela var.) crystal, showing defined faces and edges, with a reasonable size for the locality. Perfect luster and some transparency, with deep red color. In a gypsum matrix. From a different Spanish locality than usual ones.
Excellent specimen of fluorapatite from "Jumilla".A group of crystals, one of them predominant, vertical, isolated, brilliant, transparent, with good color and no damage. It is disposed in a cavity accompanied by globular aggregates of calcite and laminar hematite crystals. This specimen is from dumps and already have a certain age. Interesting matrix: A very esthetic and representative piece from this classic Spanish locality were nowadays is forbiden collect minerals.
This locality is located in La Celia volcano where we find remains of a volcanic neck (chimney) and streams from Pliocenic age (1.8 - 5 million years). These mines have a special geological interest, as they contains an exceptional locality for fluorapatite in the volcanic rock "jumillite". Jumillite is a volcanic rock of the lamproite group, a variety of phonolitic leucitite, consisting essentially of diopside and leucite and, to a lesser content, by olivine, alkali feldspar and phlogopite.
A very rich group of fluorite crystals, with an excellent transparence, brilliance and with a slight pink to violet color, near colorless. With defined cubic faces and dodecahedron on edges. Excellent miniature.
This specimen is a defined crystal of fluorite, with geometric violet color zoning, good transparency, brilliance and cube and dodecahedron faces. Presenta some small damage in the back. Good miniature.
A very rich group of goethitized pyrite crystals, covered by a thin layer of limonite, from this classic Spanish locality. Defined crystals and orange color. Good size specimen.
Group of interpenetrated aragonite crystals, brilliant, damage free and with a more intense brown color zoning in central prism. With naturally corroded pinacoids. A good specimen different from the usual in this classic aragonite Spanish locality. From a former collection Botella.
Curious globular aggregates formed by numerous fluorite octahedral crystals that have grown together, reaching this globular shape. If you look closely under magnification the specimen you can observe different growing phases. Very fluorescent under LW-UV.
This green color is the best ever found for this site, with transparence and brilliance. They are disposed on an matrix of hard porphyry covered by minute quartz crystals, with calcite and goethitized cubic pyrite.
This area is known as Singuerlín (a neighborhood of Santa Coloma de Gramenet city, close to Barcelona) and from 60's collectors has found these globular aggregates with tones between white, yellow or slightly greenish. Then some specimens were analyzed and labeled as gearksutite. More recent analysis did not indicate the presence of this species but only fluorite.
Good size specimen that shows a rich group of stalactitic growth of chalcedony, a variety of quartz. They are disposed randomly on the goethite matrix. Colourless, yellow and orange tones, due to the iron oxides. A very aesthetic specimen from this classic quarry.
An aesthetic globular aggregate of prehnite, disposed very aerially on a matrix covered by several needles of actinolite. Translucent, with a green color with yellowish tones. From a classic Spanish locality.
Globular aggregates of prehnite crystals, dull luster and light green. From a Spanish locality not well represented in collections.
Pure crystallography... Very nice galena crystal showing cube and developed octahedron faces. Perfectly disposed on a grenalitic rocky matrix with siderite.
A very aesthetic specimen formed by several fluorite cubes with echelened and polysynthetic growths. Nice color and luminous. A different specimen from Berbes.
Group of fluorite crystals, transparent, bright, with very sharp faces and edges and showing forms of the cube. One of the crystals has a very interesting asymmetrical face. Grayish-blue color, depending on the incident light. On an matrix covered by hyaline quartz crystals.
A rich group of well-defined cubic crystals of fluorite showing polysynthetic growth on faces. Violet-purple color is very intense. Many of them are interpenetrating, giving the whole a unique aesthetics. From a classic Asturian locality.
Exceptional group of cubic fluorite crystals with sharp faces and edges, matt brilliance and good size. It highlighted by the deep violet color, with marked geometric color zoning. An old piece from a classic locality for Spanish fluorite .
This specimen is formed by a group of fluorite crystals, interpenetrating, showing echeloned growths on their faces. Very brilliant and with violet color zoning, more intense in the crystal core. They are disposed on a small matrix with quartz crystals.
Celestine specimens from Azaila are recognized in the mineralogical world for its beauty, intense color and richness of facets. In the area of Azaila-Lécera we can find good size nodules and nodular levels of silexites. Most of these nodules are compact, but at certain levels appear cavities with gypsum and quartz crystals (sometimes amethyst). In very few of these cavities we can find celestine crystals. Large crystals are usually imperfect. Today it is very difficult to get good specimens from this Aragonese locality.
In this specimen we can see a cavity within the flint matrix in which has developed a faceted celestine crystal. Honey to yellowish tone, very sharp, brilliant and with an exceptional transparency.
Probably one of the best celestine specimens I've seen in this locality. Very aerial, with really good size and showing well defined faces and edges. Honey color, intense with certain zoning and an excellent transparence. Facetted by the pinacoid and various rhombic prisms. The cavity is completely covered by small quartz crystals, brilliant, between hyaline to amethyst. A definitive first quality specimen from Azaila, nearly impossible to find.

In this specimen we can observe a big cavity. It contains a group of well formed celestine crystals with color zoning between honey to colorless and nice transparence. Very rich in faces, they show pinacoidal faces close to rhombic prisms. The cavity is completely covered by small quartz crystals, brilliant, between hyaline to amethyst. A great specimen.

In this specimen we can observe a line of cavities. The main vug contains a rich group of well formed celestine crystals, one of them with a very good size, with a very marked honey tone and nice transparence. Very rich in faces, it shows pinacoidal faces close to rhombic prisms. The cavity is completely covered by small quartz crystals, brilliant, between hyaline to amethyst. A great specimen more than representative.
A very aesthetic specimen formed by a rich group of interpenetrating cubic fluorite crystals showing faces and edges of the cube well marked, with staggered and tile growths. Excellent brilliance, transparent and with an intense blue color.
Group of huge size orthoclase crystals, showing the complex faces. Nice slightly orange color and defined edges and faces. It is accompanied by small crystals of epidote/clinozoisite. It was collected many years ago near of the Montseny massif; this area was well known for orthoclase mineral collectors. A classic from a classic collection. Mr. Daunis and Mrs. Ruscalleda (wife) collection were specialized in Spanish quartz and orthoclase specimens.

Curious specimens formed by numerous slightly yellow prismatic gypsum crystals (var. selenite) very transparent and on which have been deposited small cubic halite crystals, some of them show hoppered growth, brilliant and translucent to white color. A unique neoformed and very aesthetic piece.
