RM2176   Topaz with quartz and opal

Artroyos mine, Sierra de San Francisco, Potrillos, Coneto de Comonfort, Durango, México

Group of topaz crystals of good size, combining vertical prisms with dipyramidal faces, and small pinacoidal forms. Between transparent to translucent, with colour zoning between the core and the terminal faces. They are on a matrix of volcanic rock with growths of opal.

Size: 4.6 x 3.4 x 3.2 cm.
Main crystal: 3.2 cm.
Found in ±1986.
