RM3459   Tilleyte

White to bluish spathic mass of tilleyte, a rare calcium carbonate silicate whose type locality is Crestmore. It is accompanied by merwintite (white), vesuvianite (bright brown), monticellite (cream-brown). Analysis will be sent to the buyer.

Size: 5.5 x 4.5 x 3.8 cm.

RM3404   Neptunite

Group of neptunite crystals, well developed and rich in faces, bright and arranged on a matrix with white natrolite. The contrast is very aesthetic. It belongs from the Nicolau collection (Barcelona). The formula of neptunite indicates its chemical complexity: KNa₂Li(Fe²⁺)₂Ti₂[Si₄O₁₂]₂

Size: 10.5 x 7 x 3.9 cm.
Main crystal: 12 mm.
Found in ±2009.
Col. E. Nicolau (Barcelona).

RM3377   Pirssonite

Pirssonite crystal, a rare, sharp, buoyant sodium calcium carbonate. As usually happens, it presents whitish efflorescences on the surface. A very unusual carbonate from the type locality at Searles Lake, a large, nearly 20 km dry lake in the Mojave Desert. On its western coast is the mining community of Trona. Borax has been mined since 1873. Today sodium sulfate, sodium carbonate and sodium chloride (halite) are also produced.

Size: 1.7 x 1 x 0.7 cm.

RM3375   Joaquinite-(Ce) and crossite

Very good specimen of joaquinite-(Ce) from this classic North American mine. In the crossite matrix (obsolete name of an intermediate amphibole between the riebeckite group and the glaucophane group) we can see two crystals of joaquinite-(Ce), a rare species with the formula: NaBa₂Ce₂FeTi₂[Si₄O₁₂]₂O₂(OH,F)·H₂O. They stand out for its perfection, with an intense orange color, translucent, with defined faces and edges, and a good size for the species. Very rare on the market with this quality.

Size: 3.4 x 3 x 1.4 cm.
Main crystal: 2 mm. / 1 mm.

RM3359   Pyrophyllite

Excellent specimen of pyrophyllite from this classic Californian locality. We can observe the bright radial aggregates of this phyllosilicate. A very representative specimen for the species.

Size: 5.9 x 4.2 x 3.5 cm.
Col. Juan M. Casanova.

RM2680   Andradite, var. melanite

Brilliant black andradite crystals, var. melanite, on contrasting light matrix. Well defined faces and edges. Very aerial. From the former Joan Astor collection (Barcelona).

Size: 4.8 x 2.2 x 1.4 cm.
Found in ± 1976.

RM2516   Benitoite

Very good size crystal of benitoite, a rare barium and titanium silicate, rich in faces, highlighting those of the trigonal dypraramid, together with those of the hexagonal dypyramid and the pinacoidal faces. Intense color and translucent. It has a small dent in one edge, common in these specimens without affecting the aesthetics of the specimen. On matrix.

Size: 5 x 4.1 x 3.6 cm.
Main crystal: 1.6 cm.
Found in ca. 2003.

RM1936   Inesite

This specimen of good size and quality comes from a classic North American locality for the species. Numerous pink crystals of inesite coat the interior of a vug in the matrix. Crystals of inesite are very sharp and brilliant. A good piece of this ancientlocality.

Size: 12 x 9.2 x 5 cm.
Main crystal: 5 x 2 mm

RM1609   Hydromagnesite

Good sized hydromagnesite specimens from this mine and with this quality are uncommon. On the rocky matrix, several globular aggregates of transparent crystals, with a white aspect. Brilliant and very rich specimen. Specimen originally in the collection of Hubin (Belgium).

Size: 8.5 x 6.5 x 4.0 cm.
Main crystal: 3 mm glob.

RM1467   Kernite

This huge size kernite specimen is formed by some glassy and translucent cleavage crystals. It is a rare borate, named after the namesake California county where it was discovered. It is extremely rare in sharp crystals. These crystals are not formed in the borate deposit itself, but rather in the tanks that are used to dissolve the borax. Every few years the tanks are shut down for maintenance. Kernite and primary tincalconite crystals are found growing on the large stirring blades and the walls of the tank. From the former Renaud Vochten collection (label will be send to the buyer).

Size: 9.8 x 7.5 x 4.2 cm.
Found in 1986.
Ex-col. Renaud Vochten.

RM1409   Desautelsite con artinite

A specimen for systematic collectors... A large group of needle-like colorless crystals (prismatic) of artinite, forming aesthetic rosettes. But in this sample we highlight some aggregates of desautelsite crystals, a rare manganese and magnesium carbonate found in very few locations. They are orange crystals forming groups together with the artinite.

Size: 4.3 x 1.6 x 1.8 cm.
